Indian Fried Bread




*What you will need

°1/2 teaspoon of salt
°2 teaspoons of yeast
°2 cups
°all purpose flour
°1 tablespoon vegetable oil
°3/4 cup water

*How to do it

In a medium bowl, combine salt, baking powder and flour.
Mix in oil and water.
Form the dough into a ball and place it on a lightly floured board.
Remove about ten golf ball sized bits. Shape them into balls and flatten them into a pancake. Punch a hole in the center of each flattened circle.
Fill a large skillet with about 3/4-inch of shortening or lard and heat the oil.
Fry the bread for a few seconds on each side until golden brown.
Place the bread on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
